How we handle data on this platform.

சுதேசமித்திரன் (Swadesamitran) is a non-profit civic news transparency project. We collect only what is needed to operate the service and comply with Indian law.

What we collect

Anonymous session identifiers for feed personalization (first-party, no ad trackers).
Interaction events (story views, outbound clicks) when you use the app.
Information you voluntarily submit via the grievance form.

What we do not do

We do not sell personal data.
We do not store full article bodies from publishers.
We do not run cross-site tracking for advertising.

Retention

Complaint records are retained for at least five years per IT Rules requirements. Session telemetry may be aggregated or deleted on a rolling basis as documented in our internal runbook.
